The Kress building is a historic landmark in downtown Tampa. While the name Kress is used to identify the block, there are actually three historic buildings adjoining: the J. J. Newberry building to the North, Kress in the middle and the F. W. Woolworth building to the South. These buildings have sat vacant for decades, but quite a bit of work was done in preparation for the 2012 RNC.
