CarbWire is for sale. Been meaning to do this for a while. I’m up in Ohio (with the CarbWire cofounder, Larry) so this was a perfect time. Great resource and it still gets lots of press. I even did an interview with NPR today that aired nationally.
Update: ProBlogger gave up some linkage and I found out that CarbWire has over 28,000 MyYahoo subscribers. That’s insane!
It looks like Bloglines has started pulling this site’s RSS feed again. For some reason it wasn’t updating.
Bloglines has been my default RSS reader since September 2004.

My buddy Larry is sporting a new site called Uncrate. It’s a little too feminine for me at times (metro!), but has some great pictures and a fun attitude. It also makes me feel poor because I’m not the type to drop $200 on a pair of pants. It’s all American Apparal and Dickies for me.
Search engines never cease to amaze me. Less than twenty-four hours after porting my weblog over here, there is a cache up at Google. Several other bots visited as well. Kudos!
Phew that was a lot of work. MobileTracker has been completely redesigned and moved to a new host (dedicated server!). The design work was done by Garrett Murray. I did the server transition over the low traffic period that is Christmas. It will continue to be low until the new year, so I may make a few changes.
Thoughts?
I have moved News Is Crappy (NIC) over to my dedicated server, installed WordPress and started to post once again. It has been dead for a while but I really like making jokes on the news… I just have not been writing them down.
I am something of a compulsive news reader so there should be lots of new stuff over there every day.
Overture and FeedBurner teamed up to do RSS ads right. MobileTracker has them on the feed (which I changed to full text, fun!) now. They are pretty well on topic, very impressive. Must have been a lot of work for all involved.
Thanks to Google I have thousands of people reading about Eminem’s lip sync stunt the other day. Some interesting comments from both fans and haters. Check it out. I like when nice discussions happen.
Anyone out there willing to make a WordPress template? Thinking about moving MobileTracker over to WordPress (and a new server, but hey that’s my job). It will be a new design, but it will be different than most WordPress templates. I have already hacked the URLs to match the current ones, but I need help in these areas:
1) The categories list should be like it is on the current site, not a big list.
2) Archives need to only list first x words or headlines, can’t have full posts because it is just too big.
3) Insert ads thoughout the site, inbetween posts on the index and archives
If this sounds up your alley, let me know (comment please). I’ll reward you well for your time. The new design is related to CarbWire’s if that helps.
Jeremy sold Ensight. Sweet! He says it was more than $4K like some are saying (higher than $15,000 it seems). I was hoping MobileTracker would be the first big blog sale, but alas.
Both the traffic and revenue (especially revenue) are significantly higher for MT, so the price would be quite a bit more, but I may find a buyer one of these days.
Great work J!
