Did I miss the memo?
Was I the only one not informed that the 5th of July was the new 4th of July? Seriously, what’s with all the slackers taking off? Just because you missed a day off by having it on a Sunday doesn’t mean you should take off Monday.
:-p You’ll find many offices besides the post office (including my own) who schedule a fixed number of paid holidays every year. Obviously, just before a new year starts, the powers that be sit down and determine how to distribute those days. One of the days is, of course, going to applied to the Fourth of July, regardless whether the actual day falls on a weekend.
I was saying the same exact thing on Monday July 5th.
