What’s your uptime?

If this gets interesting, I’ll turn it into a MacMerc.com post. To check your uptime, open the Terminal (Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app) and type uptime. Hit return and then copy and paste what you get into the comments.

15:26 up 38 days, 22:47, 2 users, load averages: 1.02 1.32 1.34

I have a 1.25 GHz Powerbook with 768 MB of RAM.

Update: The question is now up at MacMerc.

  4. OK, doesn’t that laptop get insanely hot with an uptime of 38 days?

  5. It counts uptime when it is asleep. If I left it on without sleep for 38 straight days it would probably be warm. Right now it’s a little chilly (just woke it up after an hour or two of sleep).

  6. Not sure if you were only looking for Mac OS X uptimes…

    4:25am up 270 days, 14:01, 1 user, load average: 0.10, 0.08, 0.08

That’s for an old PowerMac 4400 running Yellowdog Linux.

As for my Powerbook, I restarted for the security update last week. My best ever is probably around 30-35 days.
