Testing out Flock

Filed under: Links | No Comments »

I’m testing out Flock, that new social service infused web browser that’s based off of Mozilla. So far so good, but I’m not sure if the addition of a simple blogging client and del.icio.us manager warrents all the buzz. These tools already existed before and are actually pretty simple (thanks to APIs) and robust.

But I do like the UI and that it’s available across all platforms. I’m writing write now in Windows, but I have Flock installed on both my Mac and PC.

TiVo owners, check out apps.tv

If you’re a Series 2 TiVo owner (sorry folks, not DirecTivo) then you need to get yourself a USB to WiFi adapter and check out some of the home media engine stuff. Photos and music is and has always been great for broadband connected TiVo, but I just played and beat a Sudoku puzzle using HME. Freaking cool.

The best way to manage your HME apps I have found is Apps.tv.

I’m a winner

The other day I got a call that I had won lunch for me and 15 friends at my favorite local pizza place. It turns out someone actually does win those business card drawings. Last night I won a free small nugget party tray from Chick Fil-A. It was online, so feel free to try yourself.

Now if I can just start winning things less food related and more cash related.

My review of the ROKR

I reviewed the Motorola ROKR E1 over at MobileTracker and I have to say that I was not impressed. While playing tunes the phone slows down to be nearly unusable. That and the USB 1.0 make it a bust, wait for version 2 before buying!

If you’re into reviews and what not, it has been review city over at MT. First it was the Nokia 6682, then the W800i and now the ROKR E1. Up next? LG VX9800, Kyocera Slider Sonic, Samsung e635, Nokia 6101/6102 and the Samsung T809. Phew. And I have all but one of those sitting on my desk right now. December looks like some Windows Mobile handsets and the Nokia N Series.
